The bioregulator literature
The parent body of work advances the idea that ultra-short peptides can act as tissue-specific regulators of gene and protein expression. This literature has generated interest, but it has several recurring limitations:
- Many studies are decades old and small in scale.
- Much of it is published outside mainstream Western journals.
- Independent replication by unaffiliated groups is limited.
Cartilage-specific work
Work specifically framed around Cartalax and cartilage tissue is even thinner. Where it exists, it tends to be preliminary and mechanistic — for example, laboratory or cell-level observations — rather than large, controlled clinical trials with hard joint endpoints such as validated function or structural measures.
As a result, the cartilage-specific claims should be read as hypotheses awaiting rigorous testing rather than as demonstrated effects.
The replication gap
A central problem for interpreting Cartalax is the replication gap. Findings that have not been independently reproduced carry limited weight, and much of the bioregulator evidence has not cleared that bar in the wider scientific community.
